AbstractThe Trans-Siberian Railway Zone as the Eurasian Economic Corridor is an important contribution to the development of a China-Mongolia-Russia economic corridor. The book was prepared by a team from the V.B. Sochava Institute of Geography, SB RAS, including N.B. Bazarova, L.B. Bashalkhanova, L.A. Bezrukov, E.A. Bonadysenko, O.V. Valeeva, V.N. Veselova, I.N. Vladimirov, A.N. Vorobiev, N.V. Vorobiev, V.B. Vyrkin, O.V. Evstropieva, N.V. Emelianova, T.I. Zabortseva, E.A. Istomina, L.M. Korytnyi, E.L. Makarenko, P.V. Rogov, P.V. Rykov, and I.N. Zlydneva. The book confirms that as an extended transport route, the Trans-Siberian Railway (Transsib), with a total length of 9,300 km from Moscow to Vladivostok in Russia, is unique in the world. Data were analyzed for more than 60 districts and towns of the model section of the Transsib, which is 2,300 km long, between the cities of Ulan-Ude and Novosibirsk in Russia. The data used in the publication are derived from multiple sources, including previously published literature, state and local government reports on development or environmental protection, regional or economic planning projects of states or cities, official statistics from state or local government, and regional land cover maps in Russia. The content of this book is suitable for geographers, economists, railway workers, and representatives of government and business.
